Dr. Romain Maurand obtained his MS (2007) and PhD (2011) degrees at the “Université Grenoble Alpes”, France. He spent almost 3 years in the Nanoelectronics Group in the University of Basel (Switzerland) as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2014 he joined CEA-INAC as a postdoctoral fellow and in 2017 he was appointed Permanent Researcher.
His research interests and contributions are mainly in the field of quantum electronics. He worked on different systems such as carbon nanotube quantum dots, graphene and silicon nanowire quantum dots. His activity is today focused on CMOS silicon spin qubits and their integration with superconducting microwave resonators.
In 2017, he received the Starting Grant of the European Research Council (ERC).
